Dream it Do it

I have been using art to express myself since I was able to grip a crayon.

In my experience, I have written three books of poetry, 2 albums, rewritten the displeasing end to any movie or novel, doodled my way through college, designed time machine schematics, drew maps of real and unreal places, poured my heart out in my journals, designed outfits, purses, shoes and perfume bottles. The writing was always good, because my imagination is solid.. but the drawings were mostly deformed. One thing I learned early is that being passionate doesn’t equate to being talented. You wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve started over on drawing something after one minute because I had already messed it up. I’d start over 1,000 times if I have to.

Completing a piece of art became mechanical for me, in the sense that once I’ve mastered a step, I would build on top of that. When I made a mistake, I would try to save it, or restart with the base levels that I have already been able to get right. That is also my attitude on life, as I’ve found that it is very easy to build skills on top of each other.

I am ready for the world to see my art, and I thank you for taking a peek!
